I have this thing about recap posts.
I don't like doing them.
However, time goes by - I don't make the time to update my blog - and I keep finding myself in the same situation. Do you see my dilemma? This time, I decided to compromise with myself and do a super quick recap-ish post and then I'm going to surprise everyone (including myself) and do little posts
as.
things.
happen.
Novel idea, right? I don't know how you all manage to do it, but I'm going to give it a shot.
Here goes:
January. Um-No pictures taken. I'm not sure why, but apparently there wasn't anything photo worthy happening. I should remember why, but I don't. February...same story. I'm on a roll! This is going to be a piece of cake.
March was my darling daughters 4th birthday and she got her ears pierced (which was a huge deal for her), so there's no use trying to skip over that one :) I have to just say that this ear piercing was not planned. We were at the mall one day and I asked her if she wanted to go ahead and just do it (she'd been talking about it for months). To my surprise, she said yes. So, we stopped off at Claires where I met a lovely young girl running the store who looked like she was 12 so I scooped Aubrey up and walked right out. Luckily, Icing is right around the corner and the girls there looked like they probably knew what they were doing. Plus, they were so sweet to her and even complimented me on my shoes (plus 1 for them!)

Now, I promise that I warned her it was going to hurt right at first, but apparently she didn't believe me because afterwards, that sweet little girl was SO mad at me! She cried for an hour until we got settled in the car and she fell asleep (which she hardly ever does). When she woke up, she was happy as could be with her little pink earrings.

Moving on.

So, as I said earlier. This same cute little bug recently had a birthday. This year, Tangled was the theme of choice. I had very little time for prep, but we managed to come up with one decoration that has been a favorite: A 15 foot Rapunzel braid made out of yarn. I'm telling you, it was no easy task to make the darn thing, but it was totally worth it. It took 3 of us and TONS of yarn, but the kids play with it almost everyday still.

AND it was the hit of the party. Limbo, anyone?

A little wall painting, present opening....

and what's a birthday party without a craft to make and take home???

To finish off, Aubrey and her friends wrote down their dreams on a piece of paper attached to a "floating lantern" and we let them off. But this is Traverse Mountain, so the wind made it all the more exciting (and funny).

Finally...Easter. I took pictures, but they didn't turn out well this year.
So sad.

We weren't exactly feeling photogenic that morning...so, I'll spare you all the photos of that day and instead throw in a couple of the girls (and my Dad!) from Mother's Day.

Well, that's about all I've got in me for now. I guess I'll start breaking out my camera more and making some fun spring/summer memories.

We haven't been to the zoo in a while...

Holly, I love this post! Some old stuff, and a splash of recent! Plus, seriously, that rapunzel party sounds awe-some! My favorite thing was the braid, and "lanterns"! What a fun mom you are. :)

Those are fun "Tangled" birthday party ideas! And I've been wondering when the perfect age for ear piercing was!

Im dying laughing right now. This was HILLARIOUS! I love your inner monologue with yourself. The story about Claires and the 12 year old then went to Icing and they complimented your shoes. LMBO! Adoreable stories and pics. Your awesome!
